Witham was a Baptist preacher from Maine. He started the Ten Mile Baptist Church at 829 Ohio Pike (which is where Glen Este-Withamsville Road intersects with Route 125). Several of the founders of Withamsville are buried in the Mount Moriah cemetery. However, Maurice Witham died somewhere near Chillicothe in 1807.
